Did anyone find this harder to watch than the original and its remake? I even had to look away for most of the rape and torture scenes because they made me sick to my stomach...

shareYeah definitely. My favourite movies are vigilante/revenge films so my friend gave my this and the other two to watch. That got it backwards. It's supposed to be a short rape and/or torture scene then the rest of the movie preparing for, then acting out their revenge. I assume most other people who like these types of films are like me and watch them to see *beep* get what they deserve... If people watch these types of movies to enjoy a long drawn out rape scene they need help

Nobody watches this because they enjoy long-drawn rape scenes. Well actually it's likely that some people do that. But most do because they like feeling scared, feeling uncomfortable, etc. Isn't that why we watch horror movies in the first place? In both movies I was genuinely scared for the girl and I could feel her fright. It was hard to watch, but I mean I wasn't scared by a movie in quite some time. Not like that anyway. And I like that she comes back as a movie monster almost, to kill those who did her wrong.

I found the first one more disturbing. The first one was more realistic, Sarah Butler's performance was imo better. Unlike the first film, ISOYG2 had a somewhat happy ending and the main character still seemed like she had humanity left in her. The end of the first film, it looked like she had gone completely insane.
shareThis was definitely more brutal than the first one, IMHO. I was physically cringing during the rape/torture scenes - especially the electrocution device and what he did with it and for how long he kept doing it. And the brutality of her revenge was even worse! I don't even know which guy suffered more because the torture was just unimaginable. After watching a film like this, it makes me think I may never complain about my own petty troubles again!
