Yeah, has bothered me always also. If you can't just spit it out, you can always just push it out with your tongue.
Another thing are plastic bags over peoples heads and victims not making holes in them around their mouth area with their free hands. Or how people drown under water when held under 10sec(of course they do if they take water to their lungs but who would?) when most of the people can hold their breath over 1min.
I'm so glad I'm not the only one who thought so. Obviously, said survival girl doesn't have an ounce of common sense. What a shame.
shareit would be possible to spit it out. depending how far down his throat it is, put a sock in your mouth - like uncomfortably deep. not incredibly easy to spit out. but if you really want to nitpick it did look like most of the rag was at the front so it is plausible he could have maneuvered it out.

Try out most of the things in films and you'll see how many are nonsense.
Gag can be spat out, plastic bag over your face (don't try this one out on your own) can in most cases be survived by inhaling the plastic into your mouth and biting a hole.
But on the other hand, you may also be surprised with things that do work.
I for instance doubted I'd be able to open handcuffs with a paperclip, but I did.
I dont think you have ever had a sock put down so far in it touches your troath that your tounge wont even reach it so you have to grind the flat side of your tounge to try to get it out.
I Actually dont think it is that easy. Just try to imagine urself instead of crying about "plot" holes all day.
