Perfect 2010s Horror. We need more like it.

It doesn't mean the film is perfect but the themes it uses for it's horror aspect are perfect for this decade. Horror is commonly reflective of the horrific things of the era. For example the 00s had us seeing all sorts of horrors of war on the television with things in Afghanistan and Iraq, so the dark and gritty films were appropriate to that scare factor.

This works well for the 2010s as things like human trafficking, deceit and kidnapping are coming to light especially with government paedophile rings. Also is the feminism aspect, especially with her standing alone against these men, since feminism is on the rise this decade.

It seems to be forgotten that horror can mirror the society we live in and how in this case the scares can be more thought provoking. It really doesn't have to be quick jump scares in a haunted house all the time.
