I wonder if the series will cover this lesser known tragic day in history. The second Schweinfurt raid carried out by the 8th Air Force on 10/14/1943 where 60+ B-17 Flying Fortresses were lost in one day.

It's hardly lesser known in the context of strategic bombing in WWI. It is THE tragedy of the air war.

Non WWII buffs likely don't know about it. Most people think 1929 stock market crash when they hear "Black Thursday."

If they've heard anything about the air war in Europe, they've heard of the dambusters and they've heard of the Schweinfurt raids and the losses.
