Who do you consider to be your favourite character?
I personally love Helen. She's the only character that's not an @$$hole. I don't say that as if I dislike the other characters, but Noah and Alison both cheated- making them @$$holes. Cole can be an @$$hole at times.
Helen just kinda gets screwed over and tries to deal with it. Maura does a great job with the role.
Anyways, I just love Helen.
The detective and the defense lawyer. Those two should have a show together.
shareNone of the characters are particularly nice people I tend to go with Helen too, basically because Maura is so much better than anybody else at rounding out the rough edges.

I'm not sure why viewers hate him so much, especially since he's been used by both Noah (as an ATM) and Helen (revenge sex).
Yes he's a narcissist but at least he knows it.
I like Max. :-) He's not my favorite, but I think he's a great character.

Cole: I agree he sometimes acts like an *beep* but I like him.
Alison: I still like Alison even though I wanted to slap her a few times in season 2 because she's always making these awful decisions. But for some reason I feel close to her.
Oscar: He's a dick, but for some reason I can't help feeling for him. Maybe it's the actor.
The only character who I always thought would be impossible to sympathize with, who we knew all along would die soon (not caring one bit, I mean that scum dies? no loss..), this guy, I had to realize, is actually a tragic and compelling figure that makes me wish someone would have saved him somehow. Scotty's not my favorite, but the show did a phenomenal thing with him and I'm sorry that he's dead.
General thoughts on the characters: I actually like everyone on this show, even though they are all very flawed and need to work on some of their issues. But S2 has made it much harder for me to like Alison and Noah and their relationship, it's just such a mess, and they are behaving like idiots most of the time. I know they have issues and they are in a difficult situation, but they are terrible at making their relationship work.

I sympathize to all three of these individuals because they seem "wounded" and very vulnerable....

Cole by a landslide.
Then Helen.
Then nobody. They may be good actors but they're just terrible characters and I wouldn't want to know any of them.
