Season 2 Title Sequence WTF?

Okay, I only discovered this show recently, but must say, that I'm really disappointed in Season 2.

Why the hell did they replace the beautiful, haunting title sequence from S1 with that silly crap in S2? It's AWFUL!

Hang on tightly, let go lightly

It sucks major d~ck. But season 2 is phenomenal. So just fast forward through the intro, that's what I did.

reply

Absolutely! The original theme song was so poignant and expressive of the show's intent! That hillbilly crap is just a waste of time!

I loved season 1 but season 2 goes above and beyond. I think the reason for the change in the opening sequence was done kind of tongue in cheek.
Please don't let it discourage you because season 2 is outstanding and each episode gets better. It's NY 2nd favorite show behind The Americans.

It's sad, it's meta, it's fun, it's kind of weird... I think the credits are wonderful.

reply

It's all personal taste. The lyrics couldn't be more perfect and the imagery is very sobering.

I am you and what I see is me.

reply

Yep, first time I watched I hated it. I think by the 3rd episode when I paid attention to the credits and listened to the lyrics, it really hit me hard. The most haunting image is the last with the two tiny toddlers and their mother departs. That's the power of the show, those two children are so totally helpless. I wonder if they ever made it out of that dark tunnel safely.

reply

I would say it goes along with this seemingly perfect Texas town. I hope there is a new title sequence for season 3.

reply

As I said to my husband while fast forwarding past it for episode 2,

That was painful enough to listen to the FIRST time. I can't believe they are playing it on every episode.

I get that it's all "folksy" and "meta" but it sucks. Once would have been plenty.

reply

I love both intros. It took me a few listens before I could appreciate it but once I did I love it just as much as the original.

-On October 3rd He asked me what day it was "What day is it?" "It's October 3rd"-

reply

I was disgusted that they changed it but by the 4th episode I was looking forward to it and learned to love it!
Awesome show, can't wait to next season.
