It kinda takes some of the stakes away from the show if Kevin is essentially immortal. Plus that karaoke scene was ridiculous. What's next? "Kevin gets his head cut off, but he wins a game of Lacrosse and makes it back home for supper!"
This is one of my fav shows though.
He's not, the only things he's come back from are injuries it's possible to survive - an unspecified poison and a gunshot wound. Matt Jamison's wife was also in the hotel after suffering a coma.
When people have sustained injuries you can't survive, such as being shot in the head, having their throats cut and being buried for months or dying from gunshot wounds, being examined by medical personnel then put in body bags and taken away they haven't come back.
As a rational person I'd look at that and say Kevin wasn't dead either time, he was hallucinating the whole thing. Otherwise it's a very funny coincidence that all the people who were definitely dead didn't come back and the people who "died" of things you can come back from were fine.
