The low score and negative reception will be used as evidence of systemic racism

And so they will say that there is work to be done to combat racism because of it. It is a feedback loop; the people behind the show knew there would be backlash. They count on it.

But it makes them feel superior to the critics, many of whom are Egyptians. It's neo-imperialism and condescension towards non-American POC, which is frankly despicable and NOT 'woke'.

reply

Afro-American colonialism ...

reply

I don't think it's fair to single out African-Americans. A lot of white 'liberals' are pushing this agenda. But it *is* being pushed by Americans, many of whom self-identify as 'progressive', hence why I describe it as 'neo-imperialism'.

reply

If you argued that Americans pushing the woke agends onto the rest of the world is a form of neo-imperialism, you'd have a point. But to say that the condescending attitude towards the Egyptians is neo-imperialism directed at non-American POC specifically is a stretch, I think. The problem is that the Egyptians are not reacting the way they want them to react, so they're automatically called racists in order to silence them. Just like anybody else who doesn't support the woke agenda.

reply

A pity they don't realize just how racist THEY'RE being towards Greeks and Egyptians. But of course, in their messed up brains, it's not racism if black people do it.

reply

Welcome to the new world, bruh. I mean if hating a tv show that changes the race of historical character just because, then fuck it, I'm a racist then. Dumb ass Netflix and all the woke retards.

If the score is not 1, it could be regarded as that.

But average of 1, not even 1.1, means just about everybody voted 1, that includes black people too. You can't say black people did not vote for it.

That actually proved it was not about racism, people of all race and colour hated it unanimously.

reply

🤣

reply

Assuming Black people voted. It's not exactly a scientific poll, is it? Some people are more likely to vote than others, and although I have ZERO doubt that this 'documentary' is POS propaganda, I also suspect that a large percentage of the people who made the effort to give this show 1 star on the IMDb, were individuals of a white racist/alt-right leaning.

reply

I'm sure a lot of blacks loved it, they are very much encouraged to have pride in their race, even if it's not true.

reply

If they did that to countries like UK, for example saying Queen Elizabeth has black ancestry, or Sisi of Austria, I am sure they would all love it, a lot of them would be voting 10s.

If this one worked, those could become the next steps.

But Egypt? I am not sure even black people care, it is just another African country, they had plenty of those. Black people are called African American in US, but I am not sure majority of them are really that proud of Africa.

So I think the lesson here is go big or go home.
