Anyone else disappointed?

With the nominations, I mean. Emma Thompson, Tom Hanks and Oprah Winfrey were shut out. Blue is the warmest color was nowhere to be seen. American Hustle had nominations it didn't deserve. And many more.

If you have any more snubs or nominees you didn't like then go ahead and talk about it.

I'm just gonna pretend the Sag awards are the oscars.

Tom Hanks really didn't do anything spectacular in 2013, in Captain Phillips his performance was pretty mediocre until the last few minutes.

I feel the same way with American H. I don’t see “IT”. I also think Julia Roberts is being underrated. It feels like an “Oscars to get young people followers” Noting else.
Most of the categories are very predictable, actually ANY surprise, would in fact BE a surprise.

It is colder than Angelina. She took that sad old lady's husband.- Stewie G

I think Gravity was nominated too many times.

Jennifer Lawrence is obviously going to be the 'main hit' at the Oscars, which is a shame.. Like you said Oprah and Tom Hanks etc. are like being left out and are getting underrated.

You can call me queen bee and baby I'll rule, I'll rule, I'll rule.

Really Oprah? She was alright not great in The Butler

That movie was just not very good.

The only one I was disappointed about was Emma Thompson. She's one of my favorites. I don't think Oprah did anything oscar worthy with her performance, and while I enjoyed Tom Hanks, it was just too competitive a year and I think the other nominees were slightly better. In a less competitive year I think Hanks would have had a nomination.

The entire telecast has been dull as dirt. I came here because I couldn't take it any more.

This year Oscars has been a little disappointing since the nominations were in.
Many good movies and performances but a few that deserved attentions IMO were:
Phoenix ( Her)
Oscar (Inside Llewyn Davis)
Also a lot more nominations for Inside Llewyn Davis.
Any case I agree with other posters on Emma Thompson and Adele (Blue is the warmest color actress).
Oh and Meryl Streep was amazing in Osage (I loved CB in Blue Jasmine but MS was crazier in Osage. Ah well one can always say CB had a slightly more layered performance..).

"Careful. We don't want to learn from this."

I agree about Emma Thompson. Tom Hanks did fine, but it was mediocre compared to some of his past performances and compared to some of the other nominees. Oprah Winfrey.... yeah, I don't get why everyone is so shocked she didn't get nominated. I found nothing special about her performance. At all. Oprah seems to think that whenever she decides to grace the silver screen, she deserves an accolade for it. I heard she was quite pissed about being "snubbed." But in general, I felt like Oprah getting a nomination would have been very undeserving.
