He missed out on Best Director for "12 Years A Slave".
This is an injustice. It is bad enough he never won an acting award, after a career doing such movies as "The Blob", "The Great Escape" and "The Towering Inferno".
Now, he can't win a director award either. I mean, he is a Hollywood icon.
Maybe it is for the best. He couldn't recieve his Oscar anyway, since he has been dead for many years. Incredible how he can then direct a film.
If the Steve McQueen from "The Great Escape" was black then maybe this fat piece of crap would have had the decency to at least put a middle initial to his name out of respect. Just like what Michael B. Jordan did. But no, *beep* that famous white actor.

It's true. If the original Steve McQueen was black, then this guy wouldn't have had the same name. Calling me an idiot doesn't change anything.
You won't see another black actor or director with the name Richard Pryor because they would change it a bit out of respect.
It is unusual that he chose to go by Steve McQueen and not Stephen McQueen or Steve R. McQueen. People in the industry don't usually like to encourage comparison with another celebrity.
