Emmy's

Really, really, really hoping that the Emmy's choose Fargo to win over The People vs. OJ Simpson. I found that so awards-baitey and unsubtle—OK but it was no Fargo. And I really, really hope Dunst prevails over the presumed frontrunner, Sarah Paulson for Best Actress. Dunst's work was much more nuanced and subtle and the best performance of the television season, frankly! Also hope Jean Smart, Patrick Wilson, Jesse Plemons, Bokeem Woodbine get nods if not wins.

I, too, hope that Kirsten Dunst wins. She was great, in my opinion.

Jean Smart deserves special attention for her very controlled and underplayed matriarch role. She did so much with such subtle nuance.

I was happy to see Bokeem Woodbine and Jesse Plemmons get nods.

They were both great shows. I'd choose Fargo still as well, but for best Actress Sarah Paulson deserves it. She was exceptional. Kirsten was great too, but I'd have to give Paulson the edge.

Bokeem Woodbine better win. He was a standout in the best cast of the season.

reply

I love Bokeem but Sterling Brown and John Travolta were both great too so it's a close one!

I f-cking loved The People v OJ, but I agree Fargo deserves the win more. Season 2 was one of my all time favorite TV seasons. However, I do think Paulson deserves the win. Dunst was fantastic, but Paulson gave the best TV performance I've seen in a while.

reply

Nah, it was predictable and almost campy. I don't blame Paulson—she was great at what she did—I just think it was predictable Ryan Murphy-fodder, designed for awards reels and not depth. Dunst deserves this more.

reply

It better win best Limited series and Best Actress. Sarah Paulson was excellent but Dunst was phenomenal.

Couldn't agree more. This is the neatest show these days. Every single actor/actress delivered, even those with the shortest lifespan. It's quite perfect in every single way. Not even sure how this is possible.
Dunst is a superb actress..I don't understand how she can be presumed to be in the same category as Sarah. It's two completely different levels.

I think Fargo was the most snubbed today

reply

Yeah, it really was.

I just came here to say this. The favouritism towards GOT and OJ Simpson was a bit over the top. Mr Robot should have won for best writing, that pilot was awesome.
And as much as I love Sarah Paulson I felt bad for Kirsten. She was amazing in Fargo, she should've won something.
At least Ben Mendelsohn got his well deserved award. If Peter Dinklage got it this year, I would've hanged myself.
