... who live in Minnesota and North Dakota like this show and how they are represented?
shareI lived in North Dakota, just north of fargo, for a couple of years, right before the show premiered. What I can definitely say is that the accent on the show is greatly exaggerated. I also feel like on the show, they write the characters so that the more foolish the character the thicker their accent is, as if the accent implies ignorance and simple-mindedness, which I don't appreciate. However, I do realize it's just a tv show.
