Rick Carver -- Way Too Brazen an Ahole

Didn't buy the Rick Carver character as drawn -- way to much of a brazen a$$hole. Guy dressed like that, talking sh!t to displaced homeowners is liable to get himself shot in the face. Struck me as the work of a screenwriter short on research but long on imagination trying too hard. Though I've had several tenants evicted, I wasn't there and have little to go on but a few scenes from Roger & Me. Still, I don't think a real estate broker normally accompanies such a procedure but I could be wrong. The cops and their words, OTOH, seemed spot on. I almost wondered if they were the real thing.

I agree. He was cartoonishly mean and unsympathetic. I also agree he probably wouldn't be on site during the actual evictions, and if he was he'd be waiting in the car.

I guess that is why he always went armed and had a couple of police guys around.

It's that man again!!

I don't think he was that bad when he evicted Dennis. He had the demeanor of a guy that has heard every excuse in the book but still tried to remain professional. The rest of the time he was a complete prick though.

In the opening scene before he meets the homeowner, ad he gets out of his car he brzaenly spews a bunch of trash like some Wall Street swingin' d1ck for the whole neighborhood to see. In the real world he wouldn't last the first day.

Yeah on that note, I've seen several descriptions of his character-- including the one on the actual DVD box-- that refer to him as "charismatic," which frankly kinda makes one wonder if the person writing that has ever ACTUALLY met some legitimately charismatic, or just how low of standards they have to consider him to consider him as such? Heh.
