So

Is this movie ever going to get a damn trailer?

It's not coming out until September, so I suspect eventually. But I just saw this at Ebertfest (the Roger Ebert Film Festival), and it was incredible. Michael Shannon gave not just one of the best performances I've seen in a while, but he created a character that I think will go down as one of the great iconic villains, a character representing today the way Michael Douglas's Gordon Gecko represented the 80's... Andrew Garfield was also very good... I feel bad that I did not see a performance like this in him from his earlier roles. I don't want to give away too much but I will be surprised if I see a better movie this year or a better performance than Michael Shannon's.

That's the exact reason why I can't wait. Stupid Oscar season
had to get in the way of an early release. It's strange considering there's already two revealing clips from the film.

He's also supposed to be playing a caring father of some sort in Jeff Nichol's fourth project Midnight Special and the King of Rock and Roll in Elvis and Nixon.

I take it you haven't watched the Social Network or Red Riding.

Anyways, from what I've seen of this movie it looks awesome and I can't wait for it.

You're not mistaken, haven't seen em as of yet considering I have a list of films to check out that exceeds 400 or more.

Trailer just premièred today. Took me off guard because I thought we'd never see anything from this movie.

I will not fear, fear is the mind killer

Just plainly googled Michael Shannon and it showed up. This was yesterday of course, the trailers were quickly picked off sites over the course of the day.

Trailer wise, it should really come before the clips. And they released clips and the trailer 7 months between each other, strange marketing if you ask me for a film that has been complete for a year now.
