Would have been entertaining..
..if it was revealed sometime near the end of the movie that the dad still was an active agent. That he recruited and trained the girls covertly as some kind of charlies angels. All for the purpose of bringing this criminal network down. Would also explain his getting captured all the time, if it was part of the plan.
