What was with the ending?

Was it aliens then? I really didn't get the ending.

This movie was aweful in my opinion. The dialogue was ridiculous at times, the game or experiment was never explained.

My opinion is that an alien invasion occurred and they took several ships worth of people to conduct this experiment over and over. The people at the end were the survivors of each experiment.

reply

Basically was Cube meets Battle Royale but watered down.

reply

I didn't get that all. Ending wasn't explained and a solid ending wasn't even implied. no character development. Definitely not on the level of cube or battle royal

reply

I don't see how the people at the end could be the survivors of each experiment seeing as how one of the women at the end was also pregnant and as we see the unborn baby counts as it's own person during the experiment....wouldn't she have to kill her baby in order to survive? And if so, how? She can't point to arrow at herself which she would have to in order to kill the baby. It's complicated.

reply

The unborn baby only counted as a different person at the end because it landed directly over one of the other circles. If the pregnant lady in the movie was the last one standing, only one circle with life one it would have been detected and she and her baby would have survived.

The aliens were playing survival of the fittest why are humans on top of the food chain ?

reply

It's awful because you have to have everything explained to you?

Sheesh.

It's kind of like Cube or Gantz without all the action. It's more of a psychological film.

reply

Yes it was aliens. They were testing us for some reason known only to them.

Schrodinger's cat walks into a bar, and / or doesn't.

I'm thinking maybe your development isn't quite up to movies yet. Maybe have mom take you to the library and see if they still carry Dick & Jane. Don't worry, slugger, you'll grow up eventually.

WORDS MEAN THINGS! Also, before you come to bitch about a plot hole, rewatch the show/movie.

This film is a journey inward, not outward.

The ending took it from a 7 to a 6 for me. Throughout the film the idea that it would whittle them down to one who could then go free was an assumption on the part of the group (unlike in similar films when it's at least implied by the story/premise). I half hoped that the machine in the middle would just execute the last one when it ticked over again, just as it had the other 49, that it was some entertainment or experiment for someone/something which lacked any obligation, care, or inclination to actually let anyone survive the ordeal.

Still, a good film imo. Enjoyed it.
