I love that he did not flat out kill (shoot) the villain in the end, he abandoned him knowing that with a badly broken leg (bone protruding) that he would not even be able to crawl and no way would he be able to drag himself to safety before dying of thirst and exposure. Killing him would have been a mercy he deserved to die a very slow death. It was the right choice.

shareI kind of wish he would have taken that villains shoes and clothes too, to let him die in more pain. But Bernal was a more civilized and humane person than Morgan. Bernal wasn't a monster, he just wanted to escape and survive.
It wanted to make that distinction between them.
