I love that he did not flat out kill (shoot) the villain in the end, he abandoned him knowing that with a badly broken leg (bone protruding) that he would not even be able to crawl and no way would he be able to drag himself to safety before dying of thirst and exposure. Killing him would have been a mercy he deserved to die a very slow death. It was the right choice.

So all of the rest of the villains are picked off until there's just one left, and the lone survivor was left to die of exposure with a compound fracture?

I hate how the bad guy won and the good guy was hurt and left for dead. At least Hollywood isn't having your usual happy ending.

I kind of wish he would have taken that villains shoes and clothes too, to let him die in more pain. But Bernal was a more civilized and humane person than Morgan. Bernal wasn't a monster, he just wanted to escape and survive.
It wanted to make that distinction between them.
