Is it just me, or did we get all the way to the end and.....SPOILERS

Also, the last scenes showed the her and Yuri in the water with the childhood flash backs. But no sign at that time at all of the boy, even though we saw him walking into the water with them at the river's edge. Where was HE later in the underwater scenes?

The captions said very few made it to freedom in other countries, so was that the hint that 1) these 3 were the exception in the story or 2) it meant that if "very few" made it, they were another example of the vast majority who were shot in the water or otherwise killed?

The flashback also of the childhood with the children in the water could have been mistaken for them dying in the water and them having the flashback before death of their childhood?

All in all a not so satisfying ending! Unless I missed something?

I just sat through this hot mess and am left with the same question. There is nothing to be gained from watching. It has such sloppy editing, I wonder if large chunks were left on the cutting room floor.

More light needs to shed on the Holodomor. This film sheds barely a glimmer on the atrocities. Everyone looks far too healthy. In reality untold numbers were reduced to cannibalism through enforced starvation.
