Isn't it really good news that they caught a fish? They haven't had an abundance of fresh food, especially meat. I thought that would've been a big deal and maybe would've tried to catch some more.

Faced with too many meals where the main dish is Carol's raisin balls, I'd cook and eat that fish in a moment.
Probably in the real world, if a virus nearly exterminated the human race, the animals and fish would be in abundance, because humans wouldn't be harvesting them, or polluting the water anymore. I really think it's extremely unlikely any virus would nearly exterminate every form of animal life on earth, as they've depicted it in this series.

Everyone died quickly of some virus and they all managed to bury or cremate each other, leaving a pristine world devoid of human presence except for a few random survivors? Although it's a comedy, it's surrounded by tragedy. Even the widowed Gail lacks gravitas when speaking of her husband's sudden death in a worldwide plague.

It seems like they wanted to imply the the deaths were slow enough that survivors were cleaning up as it went along
Of course there should still be a few bodies left around at random as the last people in an area drop dead with no one to clean them up, but it's a comedy and I think they want to avoid gore

Which is why Tandy is putting all those big ticket prizes on the hooks. If about 13 humans out of 6 billion survived then that 1 fish out of trillions of fish is just as rare as they are. share
