This show is a comedy

But it has some dark moments, damn...

a comedy with very little humor anymore. Tandy's eyebrow gag is not as hilarious as the writers must seem to think.

It looks a bit like something highschoolers produce in their spare time, just with a lot more production value and even less jokes.
The totally failed attempt to create running gags which then fail several times in a row, the nonsense Tandy is talking, which isn't remotely like a caricature of a real person but just a streak of things made to sound as weird as possible without actually putting in the effort to come up with brilliant nonsense, the forced outside-the-box moments, which are neither original nor funny... it is so sad that this show rarely manages to be what it could be and the occasional bright moments just make it harder to accept, that the concept has failed utterly.

You want a standard sitcom. This isnt it. I think the real point of this is to make you love the characters and they didnt want to make it ultradark. After a while you get attached even to tandy and carol.. the most annoying illogical humans on earth (lets be serious the SECOND another woman came along any sane man would have dumped her instantly). It has a few funny moments, a LOT of moments that make you smile. I think the smile is the point.. except this idiotic cliffhanger

Not really. Unless you count the quality of actually being funny as a standard. I see that as part of the genre, you know, the "com" in "sitcom".

No, this show is much more like a magician, who executes his tricks so slow and clumsy that there is no chance of creating an illusion. One sees what they did there, but also how and when exactly. Which is just lame.

A lovable character would make lovable mistakes. He would have quirks like Carol. But Tandy is just dumb. And at some point it does not make sense anymore that anybody would listen to him at all. The show undermines its own premise.

I can smile at them using the sprinkler system for showers. But such things are obviously more difficult to write than just letting Tandy hold endless and painfully unfunny monologues.

i honestly think the actor comes up with this stuff. Writers arent going to torture the star of a show this much. I think he REALLY wants to make this work and is oldschool (lucille ball etc school) and willing to try anything to make it funny and interesting

Dont listen to houston hacker. The eyebrow gag was actually good.

But agree with you pepperjack, the elevator thing and other aspects are very dark.
Can't figure out if they know what they are doing.

Listen to houston hacker. The eyebrow gag was funny for 2 episodes. Stretching it out for years is not funny.

houston hacker is smelly and grimy too. i avoid him on Edwards blvd.

show needs aliens or zombies or both to mix it up. maybe aliens/zombies that talk to them and stuff. i say make the show really weird. weird as poop tutti frutti colored.

I came here to say this exact same thing.
Subject: Comedy?
Body: Sure was a dark ending.

I have loved this show since day one. Anything apocalyptic I love. "Life After People" great.
"Omega Man" excellent.
Comedy can work, so I'll keep watching.
