Bottom of some ravine

S03 E08
When Tandy talked about Gail and how she might be lying at the bottom of some ravine,
was that a "Back to the Future" joke ?
The actress of Gail (Mary Steenburgen) also played Clara Clayton in Back to the Future 3.
She was the teacher that originally fell into the (clayton) ravine and died.

"Gail definitely didn't leave because of you. Most likely scenario, she went out to grab you a gift, slipped on some sort of peel, likely banana but who knows, not ruling out citrus and now she's lying at the bottom of some ravine or like impaled on a security fence, definitely dead and all because she loved you so much."

It wouldn't surprise me if the writers had that in mind.  In-universe, Tandy is probably familiar with the BTTF trilogy (given his choice of the DeLorean to make his trip back to Tucson at the end of s.2); it's possible at some point he may have sub-consciously noted some physical resemblance between Gail and Clara.

I had to wonder how Tandy could've thought there could still be fresh fruit peels on the ground for Gail to possibly slip on... But then again, he also got excited about finding a hula hoop with the price tag still on it so it could be returned. 

Hey that hula hoop has great resale value!

Good call on the BTTF reference and her lying at the bottom of Clayton Ravine. I mean Shonash Ravine. I mean Eastwood Ravine. Man, time travel is confusing.

It would have been great if he included a name.

I'm sure it's not a coincidence. No more a coincidence than them getting Jon Hamm just to get shot by the wife he cheated on in Mad Men.
