I see what you mean she shouldn't be greedy. I think it was trying to show that Amos lacks people skills. The woman was wrong but he could have handled it better. Everyone else was being kind and all smiles.

shareRight after that scene, Amos went to talk to the imprisoned scientist (Cortazar). For a moment I had a feeling that Amos realized that someone made a similar operation on him (without him remembering it) and that's why he didn't have much feelings. The conversation with prisoner didn't go in that direction, but I'm wondering if that scenario is possible.
shareHmm, didn't occur to me but it is possible. It could also be possible he had some relapse of past experiences and was asking the scientist how he manages it and probably was thinking of wanting such a thing if he could but not admitting so.
shareI was just trying to explain Amos' strange mental state to myself. Doesn't have to be true, I just thought I'd mention it here, as a (far-fetched) possibility. I bet that people who've read the books are having a good laugh when they read some of our attempts to explain things. :)
