Evelyn's purpose
Evelyn tells her story of attempted suicide after the death of her daughter Ruby. She said "She told me that it wasn't my time. That God had another purpose for me."
At the end of the film when she is about to sacrifice her life and soul she says "This is what Ruby meant."
Somehow I don't think God's purpose for anybody would be suicide and handing over your soul to a demon.
