After Seeing "Annabelle" Let Me See If I Have This Right...

Annabelle, the doll herself, is not evil, but is being used as a conduit by a demon that was summoned by the Higgins' daughter and her male accomplice from the cult and the demon latches onto the family wanting Mia or Leah's soul, right?

If that's so, why did you sometimes see the demon and then sometimes you saw the Higgins' daughter doing the haunting?

reply

It could be the demon pretending to be Annabelle to show Mia how it was brought there and frighten her by reminding her of the attack, or it could be that Annabelle Higgins was haunting them too.

reply

I takes it was the demon pretending to be AnnaBelle Higgin, remember at the end He pretended to be the priest at Mia's door, when we just saw him in the hospital recovering from the injuries the demon cause him to get.

reply

who cares? The film was cra*! It nade no sense ans totally unscary. A real disappointment

reply

Well there is that scene when the Higgins' daughter has been slain (throat cut? Did she inflict that herself?), she's sitting with the doll in her lap and her blood drips down and into the 'eye socket' of the doll.

I wondered if this was the evil spirit entering the doll.

So put some spice in my sauce, honey in my tea, an ace up my sleeve and a slinkyplanb

reply

yeah I was confused by this too. Is it the demon haunting them, or the ghost of Annabelle? The image of Annabelle Higgins is a lot more scary than the horned demon image, although they did a good job of keeping the demon's face in low light.

reply

I figured it was sort of a Conjuring 2 situation. The demon is pulling the strings, the demon's the malevolent thing, the manipulator -- but Annabelle's ghost is attached, either due to the blood or because the demon is keeping her around (presumably it's the demon her cult is worshipping so there's a connection there anyway).
