I'm worried that this'll be another "Out Of The Shadows" type sequel.

It sounds like it's giving us pretty much everything the fans wanted: Planet Hulk, The Executioner, Grandmaster, Hela, even Surtur. But what if it gets overcrowded and, like TMNT: OOTS, still crap?

Big difference is MCU(great track record)

TMNT and Bay not so good record.

A better comparison would be "Amazing Spider-Man 2" type sequel.

It may look that way, but we need to see more I think.

I do have some worries with that, but hopefully the main villains will have separate storylines, preferably one of them brief.

reply

I think Hela and Loki are around to set up Infinity Wars, they may have brief parts. I don't think they will do the big climatic battle between Loki and Thor in this especially with Hulk in the movie.

Then it sucks. Marvel's first bona fide flop.

What's missing in movies is same as in society: a good sense of work ethic and living up to ideals.

reply

Or like how Civil War had the rivalry between Iron Man and Cap, set up Black Panther and Spider-Man, plus had all those other characters drawn in like Ant-Man, Vision, SW, AND it continued the plot thread of Winter Solidier. So much stuff in that movie.

Oh wait. It was really good.

Stop not having faith in Marvel. They have yet to truly disappoint. This movie could very well end up being more on the mediocre side like with Iron Man 2 or the second Thor. But it could also be great like Civil War or at least very good like Ant-Man or Iron Man 3.

reply

The second Thor is likely the weakest of all the MCU movies. Even it was watchable though.

I won't doubt Marvel until they well and truly botch one.

reply

This is exactly my point. There's absolutely no reason to lose faith in this studio. If if they do release a total clunker, what's one movie in the grand scheme of the 20 something they will have by the end of the decade?

Even then, if they have a bad movie, it won't be seen as "bad" by EVERYONE. It won't be Batman & Robin. Like I said earlier, it could be sub-par to Thor 2, which like YOU said, is still a very watchable movie, with very little wrong with it.

reply

Thor 2 is wasted potential at worst. Marvel hasn't bombed so far or a flopped. They have a very dedicated audience.
