Ragnarok actually refers to a planet named Ragnarök, which is where a good chunk of the film will take place and where Chris Hemsworth's Thor & Mark Ruffalo's Hulk will find themselves imprisoned. The world will have a "Gladiator meets Mad Max aesthetic."

On the planet, the God of Thunder & Green Goliath will team-up Avengers-style to fight their way out of the endless arenas, which are run by the all-powerful Grandmaster, played by Jeff Goldblum(Jurassic Park). He'll also have some major firepower in the form of an enforcer named Skurge, played by Karl Urban (Star Trek Beyond), who is said to play a vital role in the film's plot. Additionally, during his battles in the arena, Thor will come across the beautiful warrior Valkyrie, played by Tessa Thompson (Creed), who will earn his respect and join his cause to find a way off the planet. Also, at a later point, Skurge will apparently have a change of heart and lend a hand to Thor and company as they escape the hellhole.

Sounds interesting.

Sounds like a load of crap to me, false spoilers. Firstly, Feige has already directly said that Ragnarok is 'the end of everything', not some planet. Also, Karl Urban has also directly said that a majority of his scenes in the film are with Cate Blanchett which heavily implies that Skurge is Hela's henchman, not the Grandmaster's. The Grandmaster is only going to be a small role, we can ascertain that from the relatively short time Goldblum has been filming in comparison to Hemsworth, Hiddleston, Blanchett and possibly Thompson.

These 'spoilers' make no mention of Hela (who we already know is the main villain), Loki or Surtur... what are they supposedly doing whilst this is going on? Kicking back in Asgard on their own?

Also, this originally comes from SchmoesKnow which is nothing more than a review/gossip site, I would take all of it which an extra huge pinch of salt.

Ah the internet. Where everything makes sense and none of it's credible.

What's missing in movies is same as in society: a good sense of work ethic and living up to ideals.

Going to choose not to believe this because I don't want it to be true. This is the first piece of info that sounds negative regarding Thor: Ragnarok, everything I've heard about the film sounds like it's going to be excellent. If I don't see some Norse world ending apocalyptic warfare I'll be super pissed.

If this turns out to be true, it doesn't represent how Hela, Odin, Heimsdall, Loki or any of the Warriors come into it. Which means that IF the plot points above are included in the movie there is a lot of other action happening as well.

It would be sensible to say Hela's plan hinges on Thor being imprisoned. With the film following 2 congruent storylines, which merge at the climax. Thor and The Hulk are later freed and help resolve the conflict. Essentially it's a joint Plant Hulk-Ragarok film, which resolves 2 comic events in a single film. Which helps save resources from the studios perspective, which is essentially running out of time. The Infinity War is near and they can't afford to divert resources on creating a second film. Case in point being Civil War, which will likely set the precedent for the future film format.
