Bernadette is a Bombshell

She is so natural and stunning! The costumer is really doing Bernadette justice.

I love the way she's playing her role. She has a cadence I enjoy so much.

Agree! And when the heck is that woman going to start looking her age? She's almost 67 years old!!! That is how you do cosmetic surgery right - she just looks young without having that pulled, frozen-face mask.

reply

Is not just plastic surgery, I bet she follows a very restricted and disciplined diet/exercise daily rutine since she was very young. Her beauty is not just the work of a skilled plastic surgeon but its her own hard work along her life (no-smoking/drinking, solid gym/dieting/ skin care, avoiding sun damage, etc). I bet she will live many healthy years more, she's a positive role model to me :)

reply

Bingo!

reply

Think there is a limit to what diet/gym looking that extreme young seems to me to be a mix of genes and plastic surgery.
Seems a safe bet she did not overdo drugs or other bad habits also not saying your wrong but there is only so much those can do, when looking at those extreme case long lived its usually genetic and not getting run over by a car.

reply

wow really? she is 67?? I did notice some wrinkles, so I thought her to be 50 something. But true, it looks natural, she may have some things done, or not, but it does indeed look natural.

reply

Well, she can hardly open her mouth and it is visible in one of the scenes when she shouts.

reply

Haha! Apparently, you don't know her from her younger days in Hollywood and on Broadway. She's always had that little, petite mouth and that sweet, big voice. She's still a bombshell!

Honestly, I don't know how any costume designer couldn't do her justice! She has a figure that you couldn't ruin with damn sweat pants  and she definitely keeps in shape. Damn!

She is so ridiculously gorgeous and always has been. It's amazing that she still looks like this at nearly 67; she looks decades younger and has clearly located the Fountain of Youth. Or else it must just be attributable to insanely good genes and not "letting herself go" or ruining her looks the way many celebs and "regular" people do.

I didn't think she ever had any "work done"--though I suppose you can only tell for sure if it's obvious/drastic, or the person reveals it. If any slight thing was done, it wouldn't shake my idolization of her at all, because it wouldn't have been anything major, risky, or even detectable. She just looks naturally beautiful all the dang time! A total miracle woman--all that, and extreme talent, too! Why don't actual awesome people like her have reality shows about them? I have been the biggest fan of hers since the 8th grade for so many reasons; she can simply do no wrong...

I've just discovered her work very recently from Stephen Sondheim's Into the Woods. There was something about her that just struck me. So I checked out Sunday in the Park with George. And I fell in love completely. I love her face, her voice, and most importantly her personality. The way she moves, the way she rolls her eyes. I can go on for hours. She's amazing and inspiring. I'm going to start watching Mozart in the Jungle only because I just knew she was in it. If you are somehow reading this Ms. Peters. You have a new fan, 22 years of age. I'm crazy about you. Please continue working. One day I'll go to your concert.

I hope bernie isn't reading this but she looks old. She used to be so young and cute. I nearly cried. She is great in her role but old. The two maestros are excellent. Hailey is just OK. Zero pizazz. Ana Maria has plenty of pizazz. The best actor was in only one ep. The piano player who was cancelled. I hope he comes back. He glowed.

For the younger crowd (like bnanacupcake), check out The Jerk starring Steve Martin and Bernadette Peters. It's funny as hell and Bernadette's first major role.

You mean Wallace Shawn? Are you not familiar with the entire filmography of Wallace Shawn? INCONCEIVABLE!!!!

Prior to her 80s film work (The Jerk, Slaves of New York) Bernadette worked a bunch on the Carol Burnett Show. You might be able to find some of these episodes on YouTube.

Bernadette is a Bombshell ... She is so natural and stunning!

Well yeah, now. I didn't think she was so much when she was younger, but oh how well she's aged!

Breathtaking, every time she's on the screen.

One of my earliest crushes and just happy whenever I see her on screen.

I have loved her since The Jerk, one of the funniest movies ever made

She still looks as beautiful today

reply

She does look amazing, and when you consider she's close to 70, it's mind-blowing. The body, walking around in those heels...idk, even if she's had some work done, I think she must have amazing genetics plus worked hard to stay in shape to look like that.

reply

I first saw her in Impromptu... to me, she only looks slightly older now than she was 25 years ago. It's discipline...

She looks like Richard Simmons in drag. Maybe his twin sister.

Yikes! I thought she wasn't too bad, considering her age, but now that you say that, I can see it, and can't unsee it. LOL
