David gay?
Is David gay? They haven't really dealt with this yet but I assume he is.
shareI think that comment he made about not wanting to be a "victim of a hate crime" meant that he was gay.
Dan Levy gave an interview recently where he says his sexual nature will be brought up on the show and the Schitt's creek community will be liberal, "loving and accepting."
Would be funny if he ended up with Mutt :P
shareDan Levy said they made his sexuality ambiguous on purpose so it will be shown. I think since he plays it gay David will turn out to be straight.....like Dan in real life.
sharehe plays it gay, David will turn out to be straight.....like Dan in real life. Are you saying that in real everyday life, Dan Levy acts like a homosexual man, but Dan is actually not? How strange? :-) share
From the interviews I have seen he's very in touch with his metrosexual side and if he was gay that would be fine too. I didn't mean for it to sound disparaging.
He reminds me of Ducky from Pretty in Pink.
I keep seeing Johnny Galecki from Roseanne and that Bang Theory show. Guess it's the eyebrows and glasses.

I see it too, sometimes. Check out Troy Gentile from The Goldbergs. He looks EXACTLY like a young Johnny Galecki.
never thought of that, but yeah they sort of do look alike

I'm pretty sure he's openly gay in real life.

After he and Stevie hooked up it's clear he's not gay, I'm kinda disappointed that they made them two hook up but hopefully they'll stay friends with benefits instead of going full-on romance (that or David has to fight some d-bag to prove that he's better for Stevie than a Schitt's Creek lifer).
HEY BABY LOOK AT MY EYES. I LOVE YA BUT I HATE YOUR LIES.
He still might be gay and is just hooking up with her because he is high and horny. I've seen the real actor on Andy Cohen's show on YouTube and he is not 'camp' in real life so maybe he made a decision to make his character's sexuality questionable. Also David might not have admitted to himself that he is gay yet and may still come out.
shareHe said he was lonely in a previous episode so it could just be an "any port in a storm" situation, or he could actually be straight. Personally, I was hoping he'd end up with Mutt, but that's neither here nor there.
shareSince Canada is ahead of the US it turns out David is Omni-sexual he likes men, women, transgendered, cross dressers.. as he said to stevie "he just likes the wine not the label"
shareI thought that they used another word that you're using...

Pansexual and Omnisexual are the same thing.
shareAfter David and Stevie hooked up (and it was clear that the initiated that), she and he had a conversation while buying wine. Without quoting the entire conversation (I couldn't if I tried), what she said was something like 'I like red wine. Some people like white wine. I thought that you liked red wine like me.' He picked up her meaning right away and answered that yes, he'd liked red wine but sometimes he really likes white wine and he even had a nice rose once.
They both knew exactly what was being discussed and they were satisfied with the exchange. There was more to the conversation about the 'wine' but I don't remember it all.
Does David ever have a male love interest or show interest in a man, or is his pansexuality just in name only and he's only involved with women on screen?
shareI think that was the best bit of writing out of the entire first season.
shareRed was meaning likes men
White is liking women
Rose i presume meant transsexual
so in other words he has been with and likes all
After his love interest and youth talk last season I thought the show stayed in safe territory with the Stevie love interest. I'm a fan of Stevie but I was disappointed in the show.
I did hear an interview where Mr. Levy said that the character was pan-sexual. After Season 2 Ep. 3 I've glad that they allowed the character to branch out, mistake an interest, and talk about his past.
