Is Catherine O'Hara moving into caricature territory?
In S2, she seems to be dumbing down her character quite a bit. She seemed much cooler the first year of the show, but now the reactions seem way too over the top almost to the point of being too ridiculous to be funny. The first time I noticed it was that line "Where is David?! And where are his bags?!" And then the episode where she wanted to be made leader of the choir, but was terrible herself. The rest of the family play much more "we are cool people" who then generally get knocked down, but she plays it like a moron lately. It is making me lose the ability to sometimes warm to her.
