John Glenn

I was surprised that at the end during the epilogue they left out the fact that John Glenn made history in '98 when at 77 he went up back up in the shuttle the only astronaut to fly both in the Mercury capsule and the shuttle.

That would have stepped on the wrapline of Deke being the last of the Seven to fly. Besides, Glenn's shuttle flight was a bit of a stunt.

They also omitted Guion S. Bluford being the first African American in space while mentioning Sally Ride which kind of made Xavier's storyline meaningless.

I'm guessing it wasn't included because at it's core the show was about the women. That wrap up was pretty short and they of course wanted to make sure to get something in about each wife and her life after the point where the show ended. I know they made mention of Deke finally getting to go up but that was really more about the fact that as a family they remained part of NASA. Marge became known as "Mother Marge", helping and supporting future astronaut wives, after the rest of the original 7 had kind of moved on and left that behind.
