I'm so confused SPOILERS

1. There were pictures on the walls containing both their grandparents, and these wackos. Also, when the wackpa comes down to the basement, he said the grandparents talked about the kids, so they were friends of some sort. Probably patients that the grandparents were caring for (I just thought of this now, glad I started typing).

2. I don't know what you mean by "scuttlebutt", I think the grandparents just worked there/ volunteered there.

3. It's very possible that they did, because people had just started showing up to the house to check on them. They missed their weekly volunteering on Saturday, so they likely were there the previous Saturday (actually makes it more sad now when I think about it).

4. I think their behaviour was pretty messed from the start, the final night they were up later and they decided to send them to the alien planet so they didn't really care to hide anything anymore. Besides the last day, I'd say they were pretty consistent with creepyness (the last day was creepier, not less creepy--just to be clear).

5. I think it's just showing that they got some crazy problems, he can't even hold his bowels. I think that's there to push the fact that they were likely patients. Making you think about the real grandparents helping these wackos through their insanity, changing their diapers, etc. Then one day they stay up past 9:30 or some shit and they're done for.

6. Good questions, pondering them made me think of a couple pieces I missed initially.

1. She didn't have all the information we did, obviously. As far as she could see, these 2 patients no one could find were at the grandparents' house. She didn't know why, and she was confused. For all she knew, the grandparents could have been hiding them there.

2. That two patients were missing...

3. Yes. The impostor grandpa I think was the one that mentioned the real grandparents were telling them that the kids were coming to visit.

4. Meds wore off, I would imagine.

5. It has nothing to do with mental issues, but it was just a clue as to them belonging in a nursing type of environment.

The lady that visited was an ex-patient from the hospital and most likely knew the fake grandparents from there. The fake grandfather talked her into going into the backyard with them on some kind of pretext that we were not made privy to. They then killed her off-camera. She was seen hanging from a tree when the boy opened the backdoor to leave.
