Why I won’t watch it in theaters…

1. I like the original. Remakes are historically inferior. Only a very rare few turn out to be great - Ben Hur (Heston version), His Girl Friday, The Thing, My Fair Lady, etc. most others just aren’t worth it.

2. Natalie Wood is very pretty. The new girl has a face like a crescent moon. The original Tony was a bland pretty boy. Ditto for the new one, except with some weird controversy to boot about his private life.

3. My wife thinks musicals are boring. Since I won’t go the the cinema without her, guess I’m not seeing this in theaters.


4. It’s a 20th century fox film. So it’s owned by Disney. So it’ll be on Disney+ soon enough. i have Disney+. I waited 10 years to see the Les Miz movie, I can wait a few months to see WSS on Disney+.

5. I’ll see this eventually, but it’s not an event film for me, so I will wait.
