You must be a barrel of laughs

The soundtrack is on ITunes go check it out

rap trap or edm trap?

reply

I love the movie but absolutely loathe trap music and everything resembling it. Ain't that odd?

The fact that a film can appeal to someone who despises most of the soundtrack is pretty damn good.

reply

Interesting. I don't really understand what trap music is. I've never learned to like rap or hip-hop. (I'm an "old guy", in my 50's. ) I haven't seen this movie. I understand there's plenty of such music in this movie which, at the risk of sounding closed-minded, is almost enough reason in itself for me not to go see it.

EDM Trap is love, EDM Trap is life.

People who don't like their beliefs being laughed at shouldn't have such funny beliefsī²

All the sing-alongs in this movie had me wanting to stuff my ears with cotton. Could not stand it.

That's a huge part of this films authentictity. These types of kids would listen to that. They were great choices imo.

For those in their fifties: First there was rap, then there was trip hop, then there was Trap - a kind of fusion between the two, all booming bass lines, syncopated 'phat' beats, thrown together with lyrics like this: "got a benz that I ain't even drove yet, wit' two bitches in the back..." Etc.

HTH :-)

Sandwiched between The Principle of Mediocrity & Rare Earth Theory, you should see The Fermi Paradox

Trap? More like Crap! But it fit the story perfectly. Great movie!

1/10

- don't worry, that's just my signature.

The *beep* Trip hop? Never heard of it. Is that something poor white kids who try to use the word "n*gga" to sound cool made up? Using Ma$e and Puff Daddy lyrics don't help the cause.

I feel much dumber having listened to an explanation.

"For those in their fifties:"

For those under fifty: there was a time when much of popular music had melodic and rhythmic sophistication, and was performed by people with talent who had real singing voices. Sorry you missed out on that, but chances are you wouldn't recognize it anyway. Have fun going deaf listening to your chanting thugs.
