Bothans
Sorry if this has been answered but were there Bothans in ths movie?
shareThe “Many Bothans died to bring us this information “ line is from Return Of The Jedi, and it refers to the second Death Star. It has nothin to do with the mission to capture the plans for the first Death Star.
shareBut surely if the Bothans were the absolute best - the creme de la creme if you will - as far as capturing / recovering Imperial plans went during ROTJ, then SURELY they should have been involved in some capacity during the original Death Star Plan stealing mission?
Always saw this as a huge blunder in Rogue One. But then they never had the funny clicky insect guys who actually made the plans in this film either so it's a pretty lame fan fiction film at best anyway...

So, Bothans were NOT used for the first Death Star.
Ah interesting. So are you saying Imperial borders would be completely closed off to all Bothans due to the incendiary behaviour of some Bothans in the past?
shareThe Empire probably nuked the Bothan homeworld right after they realized it was the Bothans who stole the plans.
After all, it's the only way to be sure.
