Disney only cares about money and their returns have been diminishing for two straight films now. Use your common sense here.
Disney purchased Lucasfilm for $4bn. Forbes claims they've made 1/4 of that back, but the SW franchise is losing fans in droves after 4 movies. I doubt Disney will ever make a profit on the deal if they keep churning out crap like TLJ.
shareKennedy and Johnson will most likely be kicked by Disney. But .... im afraid that this wont save Star Wars anymore. Carrie Fisher died and Ford and Hamill are too old in the meantime for doing new Star Wars movies. So even if this is treated like Dragonball GT ;) , then there is still no way to do a real and believable bridge from the old Star Wars to a new Star Wars anymore.
Kennedy killed any further Star Wars development forever. Thos are the sad facts.
If it is in fact cancelled (god I hope so), there isn't going to be an announcement, we just aren't going to hear about it again.
