Theory about main character's origins (and why this movie is brilliant)

The movie chooses not to overtly explain Madison's abilities to the viewer, opting for a show and don't tell approach. Every scene involving Madison/Gabriel is thus a tiny piece of a jigsaw puzzle, that we are supposed to put together to unveil a larger picture.

Let's look at these pieces -

1. The chase scene with Kekua - we see Madison/Gabriel display a cat-like agility, swinging from railing to railing, not quite unlike a certain webslinger or his evil counterpart.

2. The police station fight - We see Madison/Gabriel function as a single entity for the first time. A dual life-form, inhabiting a single body. The host is a normal, decent human being. The symbiote has superhuman strength and reflexes, along with a willingness to kill. Hmm... where have I seen that before?

3. The phone call to Kekua, the voice from the radio, the bulbs blowing off - Madison/Gabriel can manipulate electricity. This was a curve ball. How does Madison/Gabriel have not 1 but 2 wildly different powers? Which brings me to the last piece of the puzzle.

4. Madison's parents - An unknown father who raped an underage mother. Clearly, they possessed some extraordinary genetic anomalies that their child inherited. They not only inhabit the same universe, but also in high proximity to each other, which made their paths crossing inevitable.

Putting all the pieces together, the conclusion is obvious -
Electro raped Venom. Madison/Gabriel is the resulting child. Everything takes place in the Marvel Universe.

The movie doesn't make this obvious. But then this isn't a light pop-corn flick for the masses, it's low-concept cinematic art. One that doesn't use exposition but wants the audience to use their brain. You need to be above a certain IQ to get this movie.

I expect Spiderman to show up in the sequel.

Concur, brilliant analysis.

Couldn't they have added this Electro Venom rape scene in the end credits... so us normal people could make sense of this cinematic masterpiece;-)
