I don't get the ending *spoilers

How did Emily undo the murder of Sydney and Emily's mom? Are we supposed to believe it was just a vision?

reply

They weren't murdered. That sequence where they died was an illusion that Emily created for Gabriel.

If you watch the scene again, it's pretty straightforward, and Emily even explains it to Gabriel. And that's why the scene after she caged her away directly continues for the moment before Gabriel put a bullet in Emily's head.

reply

Yeah, totally ridiculous even for a fantasy movie.

reply

I mean, it's fine not to like it but is it really that surprising? The viewer literally just found out that Gabriel's been putting illusions in Sydney's mind. Why would it be so ridiculous that Sydney would be able to do the reverse? They share the same brain.

This is one of the least ridiculous things of the movie imo. Gabriel can literally manipulate electricity, and there's no explanation for that one. How come that doesn't bother anyone? lol

reply

Not to mention the super strength and agility, no mention it where that came from either.

I was expecting them to throw in something about him being able to 'stimulate the adrenal gland' or somesuch nonsense, but her body would be a wreck after all that activity.

reply

Very true too XD. And yeah, I was actually looking forward to some stupidly unrealistic explanation.

Reminds me of this one video game that's full of superpowered android bodies. And suddenly, the very human antagonist is extremely durable. The protagonist is like, what!? The bad guy just goes "nanomachines". And that's it lmfao. That's the only mention of it. And later on, he somehow wields fire-based attacks for absolutely no reason at all XD.
