Lol what are the chances it was supposed to be Eric Dane? lol not likely, but he was the only Eric I found on the Saved by the Bell IMDb, he played uncredited role for 91 show named Tad Pogue.
I'm sure they changed the name of the person, but some people have said it was made up. I don't think it was... Dustin was a loner and I would have believed someone did try to be friends with him to get parts on the show.

Was he Asian in the book?
There were two background Asian characters in SBTB, both played by the same actor. One was a nerd and one was a "regular" (for lack of a better term) student. My best guess is it's that guy.
