Was discussing this film at the art museum...

A whole group of us elitists were gathered around a classic Monet sipping wine and berating Trump voters when this classic film came up into casual conversation.

Gerard thought the film displayed an excellent sense of German advante garde he hadn't seen since the 1920's while Tiffany and her husband Elden believed the film to be a satire of modern mores and human entitlement.

After finishing a particularly exquisite glass of 18th century Merlot, I told them both I believed it to be an existential mix of commentary on the Baroque period and the current Syrian war and Russia's inclusion in the Middle East.

We laughed, and we laughed, and then Baron nearly busted a vocal cord he had to be stretched off the premises.

Next we began discussing the many works of Rob Schneider, particularly his work on the 1995 film, Judge Dredd. My friends, you can only imagine how long that lasted!

....one of the most...interesting attempts at trolling that I have seen.

But what if it were TRUE.

A 200 year old bottle of Merlot?

I was with you until that point.

Kind of funny, and definately a creative way of saying you didn't like the movie.
But, just as in this film, there are subtexts to your comment... Like;

-You feel unintelligent when other people find hidden meaning in things you only percieve in a single dimension.

-You think one needs to be rich and/or have expensive hobbies to be able to percieve subtext meanings in films.

-You assume that subtext is a hoax, and something that your fictive intelligent, rich people fake-find in everything, just to make you feel stupid.

By the way, there is no subtext in this comment.
