men are monsters so the title is just a methafor for men abusing wife and girl

But the film never depicted a man abusing a woman and the only scene of abuse came from the mother slapping the daughter and various other examples of neglect....

Not trying to be a grammar nazi but I think you meant to write Metaphor.

Secondly, I don't think men in general are monsters. So that is kind of harsh.
