The real horror in this movie ...

is the mother's IQ...

Did this idiot honestly believe her daughter can escape a creature that just outrun a moving vehicle? I mean what was the plan...? Let's say her daughter was obedient and did run while the mother distracted the beast...Then what? What made the mother so sure her daughter will reach safety?

They knew the creature feared the light, they could've waited in that ambulance till morning and protected themselves with the flashlight in the meantime, but nop, lemme get mauled to death and leave my young daughter alone to defend herself against a human-devouring beast.

Funny that the daughter (who is the actual adult here) was able to come up with a decent plan only after her idiot mother died and spared her from the distractive *beep*
Bottom-line of the story, don't drink alcohol it makes u dumb af.

Agreed. There was a lot of possible ways to escape and trap the monster. They both could've used that fire back to the truck. I got the sudden impression this might be a psychological horror like the movie Before i wake , because there's just too many times the monster ignored that kid. I thought she was manifesting dream monsters into real world to kill the mother.

White Trash people are necessarily the smartest. And definitely a Trump voter.

but the daughter was a genius, she waited until the monster get rid of her stupid drinking mother before finishing it off.

hell, I wouldnt be surprised if she hired the monster and get rid of it after it did its job like the Joker in the Dark Knight.

The point was that she was a dumb mom that had low self worth. I don't think that she deserved what happened to her though.
