Okay, lets face the facts here.
The drunk guy crawled to the beach with his legs seperated from his torso (for effect). His legs and torso both made it to the beach. What part did the shark eat that warranted Blake's emotion? The numberplate that cut him in half? Gotta watch those sharks with steel weapons that chop you in half and don't eat you then let you swim to shore.
