The ending - What if.....
Uhtred had slain Edward on the spot after the battle at Bebbanberg - it's not like Edward, like his father, wasn't a two faced prick who had it coming - and pushed the bastard son, his ward, forward as the new king. What would have transpired?
I get that the bastard would have been angry at Uhtred but beyond that........
