Episode 11 - a waste

A filler episode.

Wow, I came here to post exactly this. You said it first.
This episode wasted 55 minutes to show that Bram killed the ambassador. OK, now he is a soldier. Good. Could have done it in five minutes.
It was the weakest episode so far, both seasons considered.
Now we have only two left 'til the season finale.
I certainly hope the next one is better. The preview seems to indicate so.

i disagree. i thought it was a good episode. it showed us just how far over the edge bram has gone. he doesn't care that the red hand tried to kill his family. he put his aunt in peril along with his young nephew. killing the ambassador is the least of his crimes. i think there might be a family showdown once brussard's group confronts the red hand

Actually after a couple of days and thinking about it, I'm starting to agree, and I'm disavowing my own opinion posted above.

I didn't particularly like the way they did it, but it was a strong episode in terms of showing us the real Bram. He used his aunt to get out of the block unharmed, under the guise of saving her. Was he really remorseful when he returned to the sewers? It was more likely survivor guilt. He got out whilst his comrades died (again). I like this direction they are taking his character.

Did we see the same show? My wife and I feel strongly that this was one of the best episodes yet. I really loved the way they showed the events from different perspectives. The ending of the show was very surprising.

And not a waste. We learned more about Bram, and saw lots of interesting things from different viewpoints

I'm only sorry there are only two episodes left.

The series should be building toward something instead it is meandering.

I would assert that it episode 11 did build toward something. By the end of the episode, we learned a tiny bit more that the Germans seem to be at a higher level of hierarchy than those in the United States.

If we do get a third season, Bram will be even a strong resistance member than we've seen so far.

And I am sure that all of the assassinations that happened in this episode will have repercussions in episodes 12 and 13.

Yep, I'm changing my mind. While watching the episode I was frustrated. But two days later, thinking of the character arc and the multi-perspective event, I guess it was a good episode after all.

I don't know if it was filler per se, but it seemed like just another way to skip advancing any kind of long-term narrative in favor of generating yet another cycle of family drama. The writers are so focused on the family drama angle of this concept that they've almost given up on long-term narrative advancement.

They introduced and then promptly ignored the woman from outside who parachuted in for two episodes. It's like they're not even trying to maintain any consistent narrative so they can have repetitive cycles of interpersonal drama.
