Takes Bad Writing to a Whole Other Level

This is a show filled with unlikable characters because writers today don't know how to write any differently. Worse, they throw in tragedy after tragedy, to hope for an emotional response from the audience that never happens. Killing and wounding animals, murdered family members, suicide, sexually assaulted young girls, and much more. One right after the other, nonstop. Now that's entertainment! It's also written by people who have never been outside in nature. They'd have you believe you're constantly at risk of wolves and rattlesnakes, when in reality interactions with humans hardly ever occurred. Not on this show. It's commonplace.

This is close to the worst crap on TV and I've always liked Kevin Costner. It's a shame he's sunk to this. Even his character isn't likeable. The daughter is the worst. She's written as one of those women who believes you have to be an utter nasty bitch to converse with a man, or appear strong, but multiply that by 100. She even beats a man, and claims he's not a man himself because he finally hit back, after taking it over and over. She said a man would have simply walked away. So much for equal rights. Don't even get me started on the asinine way she behaves and the utterly childish antics she pulls.

Twenty minutes into the 3rd episode (4th hour) and I decided to give up. Even my worthless time is more important wasting it on this horrid trash. I did finish the episode, and it ended as stupidly as expected. Bodies buried in land that has never been touched, in the middle of nowhere, are about to be discovered right after burial because developers are coming. Wow. Just bad. One tragic coincidence after another. This made me reevaluate my opinion of bad writing. I didn't know the bar could go this low. Three episodes in an the amount of nonsense that has happened to certain characters is unbelievable, even for a fictious story.

I liked 1883, and I'm also enjoying 1923. Never seen Yellowstone, and wondering if I'll like it. My best guess is no.
