One of the best Christian movies

im just saying that this is probably one of the best faith related films I've ever seen

reply

i read the book and i love the book.
BUT i read "Heaven is real"-- and that movie strayed from the book too way to much. It was ok, but not the same feeling i got from the book

did you read the book and is the movie loyal to the book?

reply

I didn't read the book so I can't say, sorry

reply

I haven't seen the movie yet and have only read excerpts from the book.

What I can say, is that I have listened to and read a lot of interviews about this movie over the last weeks.

Don and Eva Piper were adamant about making sure the movie did not stray from the book. They had a lot of people who sent them scripts that were the typical Hollywood version of the book so they passed until Michael Polish came along.

They are satisfied and happy that the movie follows the book very closely. Eva says there might be minor stories missing but the majority of the book and it's meaning are all there.

My wife has read the book and went and saw Don Piper in person she was telling me what was going to happen before it happened on the movie. The only thing that was different in the movie that did not happen in the book and in real life was the good nursing that Don had in the movie. The nursing staff in real life was horrible. The rest was straight from the book.

It was one o fine few Christian movies that wasn't too preachy about God which was a good thing but there was nothing really special that made people want to be fascinated with dons experience in heaven.

The one you have ever seen? I thought it is not released yet. 

I am what I am and I'll do what I want

I was invited to the premiere in Atlanta

Oh, okay, great 

I read that it stays true to Don Piper's story but it incorporates Eva Piper's point of view based on her novel "A Walk Through the Dark." I read 90 Minutes In Heaven but I wanted to know more about the impact on Eva and their family. I was pleased to hear her storyline is included in the movie. Don and Eva were on set as consultants. I think Michael Polish has honored their story.

I have not seen the movie but I would be really angry if I went to heaven and someone brought me back to this place.

This is good to know. I didn't even know this was coming out until I saw it on the main page here at IMDB.

We need more movies like these. We need more proclaiming our Lord Jesus.

I belong to Jesus: my Lord, Savior, my eternity, my everything. I love you, Jesus!

I agree, PrincessMagical. I would like to have seen an additional 10 minutes to find out what the childrens' friends thought about them and their beliefs about God. That might be covered in the book.

There will always be people who don't believe and come on here to give the film a 1. However, if the movie goer has faith, this is a very good film worthy of a 7 or 8. I think I will see it again.

People like you are the reason that Don Piper now lives in a multi-million dollar house with 6 cars.

Better Christian Movies Than This:

The Last Temptation of Christ
The Nativity Story
Facing the Giants
Ben-Hur

Then There Are the Hilariously Bad Ones:

Kirk Cameron's Saving Christmas
The Identical
Persecuted
