Trailer Review - Powerful

Although most foreign films have limited distribution within the USA, I truly hope 'Agnus Dei / The Innocent' is picked up for widest possible viewing. A review of the trailer leads me to believe 'and/or hope' this movie is very powerful, spiritually moving and with heart. Although based upon historical events, I'm assuming the message at the heart of this movie is truly relevant within today's war torn world.

It's already been released in France and it's currenly sitting at a 3.9 critical score on allociné, which means a very good reception. Anne Fontaine has always been very hit or miss, but this one looks promising: the setting/premise is intriguing and it has Poland's finest Agatas, Kulesza and Buzek. I thought 'Gemma Bovery' was lovely, and I hope it was just the beginning of a fine streak for Fontaine.
