24 Hours of Le Mans (***SPOILER ALERT***)

- His team didn't win the race as depicted in the movie. They placed third. Still, they did make it to the podium with the champagne-spraying ritual.

- Jann Mardenborough's accident, which supposedly had him freaking out for a time in the Le Mans, actually took place several years after the Le Mans.

Okay, so the filmmakers took some dramatic license in making this. It did make for a better movie, overall.

I rate it 7.5 out of 10.

The film depicted just that....his team placing in 3rd. What did they get wrong about that?

I guess I'll have to watch that part again........

Okay, my bad. I just rewatched the ending, and I must have gotten swept up in the moment, where it showed his car edging out the other one to come in first. That and I don't understand the rules of LeMans. It did show his team standing next to the overall winner on the podium.

As already stated, the movie showed him placing 3rd. How podiums work is they usually have the top 3 winners (1st, 2nd and 3rd place) all on the podium. With the overall winner (1st place) standing in the middle and 2nd and 3rd place on either side of the winner.

That wasn't a race to 1st place if that makes sense. That was depicting where he was in the race, which was between 3rd and 4th place. We can assume the 1st and 2nd place winners already crossed the finish line off-camera. Overall it would've been nice for them to let us know which manufacturer placed in 1st and 2nd just for a little closure and to help avoid confusion like in your case.
