One of the best shows I've seen in a long time

This is a darkly funny, well-written and engaging spy-thriller-gone-wrong which uses a series of bizarre co-incidences (with a smattering of bad judgement and appalling luck) to weave the tale of our hang-dog-faced protagonist, John, who is barely hanging on to his sanity as events spiral out of his control like a snowball cannoning down a hill with a grenade in the middle of it.

His hapless family, weird colleagues and a sexy police detective drive him even closer to the edge as he tries to rein back control of a situation that goes laughably (sometimes out loud) and increasingly awry with each episode.

Hats off to Michael Dorman, who also gets to showcase his folk-singing talents, and Tony Fitzpatrick who is actually an artist from Chicago and has only 1 IMDB credit to his name.

This is awesome stuff. Watch it.

Very very good Awesome performances by the entire cast. A black comedy that gets darker as it goes along till one is almost in tears for John. Ending not clear, but maybe a set up for hopefully another season.

I didn't go in with great expectations, so the show surprised me. The dark humour is excellent, it has great acting talent, it's imaginative in how it approaches the genre and the story. It really goes against the grain of what spy shows are. I'm even hesitant to call it a spy show, since it's much more about John's character, than all the spying.

There are great shows all over, but something this original in how the story is told doesn't come along every day.

It quickly became one of my all time favorite shows. Very few series have I watched twice but this is one of them.
