shareNo. Willie's version is also very good and popularized the song. Many of us probably would never have heard of the late great Townes Van Zandt if Willie had not covered Pancho and Lefty. Turns out my father-in-law knew Townes and I still probably would have never heard the Townes version or many of Townes's other great songs if not for Willie.
